The main purpose of the Backflow Repair and Maintenance Course is to teach safety techniques to the testers while installing and repairing their assemblies. We work on many different large 6-8” manufacturers' assemblies such as: Wilkins, Watts, Febco, Conbraco, and Aimes. Also, we review the smaller size assemblies from 1/2 inch to 2-3 inches. After our instructors have shown students how to disassemble and troubleshoot each assembly, we review the theory again on the RP (Reduced Pressure Assembly) and the DCVA (Double Check Valve Assembly), and the math and methods for each device. This course takes 20 hours and it offers no CEU credits for the contractors' license renewal.

Note: Several municipalities are mandating this course even to test backflows in their city now. The Backflow Testers should always check with each local water districts to find out what other requirements are necessary to test.

Note: If you take this course during the same year in which you are to recertify your Backflow Testers Certification, you can use the Repair & Maintenance Course to satisfy your recertification !
